Registration happens entirely in XTB's own app or on its website, xtb.com (opens in a new tab), not here. According to XTB's help centre, the process is the same whether you begin on the website or in the app: the "Create account" button on the website points you to the app, where the form and the identity check take place.1
What you need
- An email address you can access right away
- A mobile phone number
- A smartphone, because the identity check is done in the XTB app
- A valid photo ID, such as a passport, national ID card or driving licence, as a physical document: XTB photographs it live in the app and does not accept uploaded scans or photos1
Step by step
- Open xtb.com or the XTB app and choose the option to create an account. On the website this takes you to the app.1
- Complete the form. XTB asks for your contact details and personal details; enter them exactly as they appear on your ID.
- Verify your identity in the app. Follow the on-screen instructions for the video verification and photograph your ID document when asked. A previously taken photo or scan cannot be uploaded.1
- Wait for the check. XTB reviews the documents; this normally takes a few minutes, during busy periods up to several hours.1,2
- Done. Once XTB has confirmed your documents, the account is activated and you are informed by email.1
Verification is carried out by XTB. If the documents cannot be verified, XTB sends instructions on how to fix the problem, which may mean taking the photos again. If the account is not activated within 24 hours after the documents were accepted, XTB asks you to contact its customer service through the live chat.1,2

- Use your real name exactly as it appears on your ID; mismatches are the most common reason for delays.
- Keep the physical ID document at hand when you start: the photos are taken live inside the app.
